In this project, I studied using some NLP techniques to extract information from online sources, and using information fusion to handle uncertain and possibly inconsistent information. I applied my methods to various applications such as clinical meta-analysis and smart home. I also collaborated with academic and industrial partners from Nottingham University, Manchester University, StatsDirect Company, etc. Title: ISIS - An Integrated Sensor Information System for Crime Prevention EPSRC Reference: EP/E028640/1.In 2009, I was involved in the ISIS project during my PhD study. I developed a novel event correlation framework for correlating dispersed events from multiple sources in large sensor networks, under the condition of uncertain observations and conflicting information. This theoretical framework was implemented by a team of Engineers at CSIT, and is being applied to many event-driven real-world applications in CSIT.Title: CSIT Centre for Secure Information TechnologiesEPSRC Reference: EP/G034303/1, EP/H049606/1; (EPSRC, TSB, InvestNI, Industry)As a research fellow in this project, I had been in charge of the event reasoning work package.
